Abstract: International audience ; This exploratory study aims to understand how international students inscribe themselves in their host city from spatial, linguistic and cultural perspectives. We use ethnographer Sarah Pink (2008)’s methodology of filmed walking interviews to capture on-the-move interactions between researchers and participants as they walk across the city. For this study, a 360° camera has been used as it was hypothesized that it could provide unique perspectives on the way participants look at the cityscape while they walk through it in the company of researchers. The article first describes how data, combining a standard video camera and a 360° camera on a same event. Then, it proposes a semiotic reflection that questions the practices of data constitution and visualization, between a documentation of a situation and a research writing.
