Abstract:
This research lays the foundations for the characterization of Spanish language in the field of international development cooperation. Our work, which starts from the demonstration of the existence of discursive issues specific to this sphere, is based on empirical observation of the discursive practices of one of its main actors, Non-Governmental Organizations, as manifested in one of the written genres produced by the specialized community: the annual report. The analysis of our corpus, made up of 160 annual reports from Spanish NGOs corresponding to the year 2017 and published on the Internet, adopted a double scientific logic: top-down then bottom-up. It started from the contextual level (conditions of production and reception, relations with other genres, explicit purpose, etc.) then analyzed the documents, first on the macro-textual level (visual design, logical structure, essential content, etc.) then micro-textual (lexicon, nomination procedures, etc.) and finally came back to extralinguistic aspects by relating discursive practices to professional practices. The results obtained, in particular the lexical repertoire and the identification of recurrent and divergent discursive choices, are useful for the training and professional exercise of specialists in the field as well as specialized translators, and provide systematic and comparable data that can feed the internal debates on the place of communication in achieving the objectives of the activity and on the social effects of the discursive practices of NGOs. ; Cette recherche établit les fondements de la caractérisation de l’espagnol de la coopération internationale au développement. Notre travail, qui part de la démonstration de l’existence d’enjeux discursifs spécifiques à ce domaine, est fondée sur l’observation empirique des pratiques discursives des Organisations non gouvernementales, l’un de ses acteurs principaux, telles qu’elles se manifestent dans l’un des genres écrits produits par la communauté spécialisée : le rapport annuel d’activités. L’analyse de notre corpus, constitué de 160 rapports annuels d’ONG espagnoles correspondant à l’année 2017 et publiés sur Internet, a adopté une logique scientifique descendante puis ascendante qui partait du niveau contextuel (conditions de production et de réception, relations avec d’autres genres, finalité explicitée, etc.) pour ensuite effectuer l’analyse des documents, d’abord sur le plan macro-textuel (conception visuelle, structure logique, contenus essentiels, etc.) puis micro-textuel (lexique, procédures de nomination, etc.) et revenir enfin aux aspects extralinguistiques par la mise en relation entre les pratiques discursives et les pratiques professionnelles. Les résultats obtenus, en particulier le répertoire lexical et l’identification des choix discursifs récurrents et divergents, sont utiles à la formation et à l’exercice professionnel des spécialistes du domaine et des traducteurs spécialisés, et fournissent des données systématisées et comparables qui peuvent nourrir les débats internes sur la place de la communication dans la réalisation des objectifs de l’activité et sur les effets sociaux des pratiques discursives des ONG.
