A natureza pragmática do discurso ficcional

Defesa : Curitiba, 24/02/2017 ; Inclui referências: p.115-122 ; Área de concentração: Estudos linguísticos ; Resumo: A complexidade e a pouca compreensão que cerceiam os fenômenos ficcionais desafiam o empreendimento das ciências cognitivas, que se esforçam para a naturalização da pesquisa de fenômenos humanos. As ciências da linguagem tendem a contribuir com a pesquisa dos cientistas cognitivos, fornecendo evidências reiteradamente ignoradas pelas demais disciplinas, como a centralidade dos fenômenos linguísticos para o avanço investigação ficcional. Contudo, de uma perspectiva inter-paradigmática das ciências da significação, se convencionou estudar o discurso ficcional sob a tradicional concepção semântica de verdade e das sub-teorias da 'verdade', se apelando ou para modelos vericondicionais ou de mundos possíveis; já de uma perspectiva intraparadigmática no programa da Teoria da Relevância, a convenção recai sob a noção de inferência e das suas sub-teorias, se apelando ou para o processo comunicativo ou para o processo cognitivo. Com o confesso objetivo de promover a diversidade teórica, esta tese propõe a hipótese de se investigar o discurso ficcional sob a noção de 'relevância', como alternativa a noção de verdade, conforme tradicionalmente empregada na pesquisa semântica (verifuncional/mundos possíveis); e de concentrar sua análise nos elementos linguísticos, como alternativa aos tratamentos propostos no interior do quadro relevantista (comunicativo/cognitivo). Portanto, a contribuição deste trabalho para o debate em questão será a de evidenciar as descobertas dos lógicos e dos linguistas sobre a natureza do discurso ficcional, a fim de fornecer algum avanço para a investigação ficcional e alguma possível formulação que caracterize as noções de discurso e de ficção, que parecem evidenciar a natureza pragmática do discurso ficcional. Palavras-chave: Discurso ficcional; Semântica; Pragmática; Inferência; Relevância. ; Abstract: The complexity and the little understanding that surround the fictional phenomena challenge the undertaking of the cognitive sciences, which strive to naturalize the research on human phenomena. Language Sciences tend to contribute to cognitive scientists researches, providing evidence repeatedly ignored by other areas, such as the centrality of the linguistic phenomena to the advance of fictional investigation. However, from an interparadigmatic perspective of the Meaning Sciences, it has been established to study the fictional discourse under the traditional semantic conception of truth and the sub theories of "truth", appealing either to truth-conditional or possible worlds models. But from an inter-paradigmatic perspective of the Relevance Theory, the convention falls on the notion of inference and its sub theories, appealing either to the communicative or to the cognitive processes. With the objective to promote the theoretical diversity, this thesis proposes the hypothesis to investigate the fictional discourse under the notion of "relevance" as an alternative to the notion of truth as traditionally used in the semantic research (truth-conditional/possible worlds); and to concentrate its analysis at the linguistic elements as an alternative to the treatment proposed by the relevance framework (communicative/cognitive). Therefore, this work's contribution to the debate is to point out the discoveries by logicians and linguists about the nature of fictional discourse in order to provide some advance to the fictional investigation and a possible formulation that characterizes the concepts of discourse and fiction, which seems to display the pragmatic nature of the fictional discourse.
