Abstract:
Sobre el contexto lingüístico en el que se fragua el Escudo de la más constante., nos fijamos en los siguientes aspectos. Primero, la situación concreta de la lengua vasca hablada en los diversos territorios vascos, con especial atención a los porcentajes de monolingües vascos existentes a lo largo del siglo XVIII; además, reparamos en los niveles de lectura y escritura que se daban en esta lengua y, finalmente, analizamos el papel desempeñado por el euskara en el entramado argumentativo del Escudo. ; Escudo de la más constante. liburua idatzi zeneko testuinguruko linguistikoari dagokionez, honako alderdi hauei erreparatu diegu: Lehenik eta behin, euskal lurraldeetan mintzatutako euskararen egoera zehatza, arreta berezia emanez XVIII. mendean zeuden euskaldun elebakarren ehunekoari; gainera, euskarazko irakurmen- eta idazmen-mailak ere aztertuko ditugu eta, amaitzeko, euskarak liburuaren argumentuen osaketan izan zuen paperaren berri eman dugu. ; With regard to the linguistic context in which the Escudo de la más constante fe y lealtad de Vizcaya was drafted, we have addressed the following aspects: First, the specific situation of the Basque language spoken in the various Basque territories, with special attention to the percentages of Basque monolinguals existing throughout the eighteenth century. In addition, we looked at the levels of reading and writing that were taught in this language and, finally, we analysed the role played by the Basque language in the argumentative framework of the Escudo.
