Las emociones propias de la comunicación médico-paciente en la serie The Good Doctor: retos para la traducción audiovisual accesible inglés-español
Abstract: Las series de televisión de temática médica se caracterizan no solo por el uso de terminología médica sino también por la presencia de emociones en la comunicación médico-paciente. Con el presente estudio se pretende analizar dichas emociones tomando como base una selección de escenas de la serie de televisión The Good Doctor. Desde una perspectiva contrastiva inglés-español y teniendo en cuenta las peculiaridades y parámetros de la traducción audiovisual interlingüística e intersemiótica, se describe el lenguaje verbal y el lenguaje no verbal para la expresión de emociones en un entorno médico. Asimismo, se ha elaborado un subtitulado para personas con diversidad funcional auditiva de las escenas estudiadas, otorgando una gran importancia a las emociones. Este Trabajo Fin de Grado se enmarca en el proyecto I+D+i «Caracterización léxico-semántica de emociones en comunicación multimodal. LEXEMOS» (A-HUM-131-UGR18). ; TV series set in hospitals are defined not only by the use of medical terminology, but also by the manifestation of emotions in doctor-patient communication. This study aims to analyse those emotions using a selection of scenes from the TV series The Good Doctor. From a contrastive English-Spanish approach, and taking into account the characteristics and parameters of interlinguistic and intersemiotic audiovisual translation, we describe verbal and non-verbal language used to express emotions in a medical setting. Furthermore, we subtitle the scenes under study for the deaf and hard of hearing, giving great importance to emotions.
