Granulomatose mit Polyangiitis (GPA, Wegenersche Granulomatose) und rheumatoider Arthritis (RA), sind umstritten. In vielen Studien fehlen Kontrollgruppen oder Vergleiche mit einer altersbedingten normalen Hörschwelle. Methoden: In dieser Studie wurde das Hörvermögen mit einer erweiterten audiologischen Testbatterie untersucht. Insgesamt wurden 22 Erwachsene mit RA, 16 mit GPA und eine für Alter und Geschlecht ähnliche Kontrollgruppe (n=34) einbezogen. Untersucht wurden die Reinton-Hörschwelle, die Sprachwahrnehmung in Ruhe und im Lärm, die Tympanometrie und distorsionsproduzierte otoakustische Emissionen (DPOAE). Ergebnisse: GPA-Patienten wiesen im Vergleich zur Kontrollgruppe ein beeinträchtigtes Reintonhörvermögen auf, RA-Patienten dagegen nicht. Es wurde eine ... : Objectives: Hearing loss in patients with autoimmune diseases, such as granulomatosis with polyangiitis (GPA, Wegener’s granulomatosis) and rheumatoid arthritis (RA), is controversial. Many studies lack control groups or comparisons to an age-related normal hearing threshold. Methods: This study investigates hearing performance with an extended audiological battery. A total of 22 adults with RA, 16 with GPA and one age- and gender-matched control group (n=34) were included. Pure-tone hearing thresholds, speech perception in quiet and noise, tympanometry, and distorsion product otoacoustic emissions (DPOAE) were assessed. Results: GPA patients exhibited impaired pure-tone hearing compared to the control group, whereas RA patients did not. In GPA patients, a larger air-bone gap indicated conductive hearing loss. In addition, speech perception was reduced exclusively in GPA patients. A significant correlation was found between hearing loss and the cumulative steroid dose in GPA patients. ...
