Desenho de um dicionário bilíngue latino-português para alunos em fase inicial de aprendizagem

Abstract: Embora o latim seja considerado uma “língua morta”, pelo fato de não haver há séculos falantes que o adquiriram como língua materna, podemos considerá-lo uma língua viva do passado, cujas marcas se fazem presentes em numerosas línguas vernáculas. No Brasil, o fato de o latim ter sido extinto do currículo das escolas de primeiro e segundo graus, na década de sessenta, bem como de ter se tornado facultativo nas universidades a partir de 1996, reduziu significativamente o escopo de seu estudo, tornando-se primordial uma revitalização do ensino dessa disciplina. Para tanto, faz-se necessária a criação de recursos didáticos mais modernos e adequados às necessidades dos aprendizes da língua – dentre os quais incluem-se os dicionários de latim. A partir da análise de obras lexicográficas de latim de uso corrente e da compilação de um corpus formado por livros didáticos de língua latina utilizados em sala de aula, verificamos aspectos estruturais passíveis de serem reformulados para um melhor aproveitamento do público-alvo e apresentamos um desenho de dicionário bilíngue de latim mais adequado às necessidades de usuários em fase inicial de aprendizagem. ; Although Latin is considered a “dead language”, since for centuries there have not been speakers who have acquired it as a mother tongue, we can consider it a live language of the past, whose marks are present in several vernacular languages. In Brazil, the fact that Latin has been vanished from primary and high school curriculums in the 70’s - as well as having been turned into a facultative subject at the universities since 1996 - diminished abruptly its range of study. Therefore, a revitalization of its teaching has been required. Thus, the creation of up-to-date didactic means to suit the learners’ needs are necessary, and Latin dictionaries are some of these resources. From reviews of lexicographic Latin current works, as well as by a gathering of a corpus made by didactic Latin books used in the classroom, we verify structural aspects subject to be reformulated to a better mastery of the target public, and we present a draft of a Latin bilingual dictionary more suitable to the needs of the initial learners.
