Abstract:
: In the article there are investigative results of theme which wasn’t the subject of special learning – comparison of Greek and Russian double-governed verbs and translation from Greek to Russian. Common and individual features in the case systems of languages are revealed. Based on the analysis carried out, groups and subgroups of verbs are determined depending on the arrangement of cases in direct and indirect objects and the presence or absence of a preposition. Views of Greek and Russian scientists on this verb group are demonstrated. It turned out that the choice of cases in which objects are used in double-control verb constructions depends on the lexical-semantic group of verbs. The results of the study made it possible to formulate the regularities of the translation of Greek verbs with dual control into Russian, which will make the translation more adequate. This study is also of theoretical importance, as it allows a deeper study of the syntactic potential of Greek and Russian double-control verbs. ...
