	Abstract: International audience ; It does not escape the seasoned observer that recent developments in teaching and research in Spanish as a foreign language accord a preponderant role to all aspects related to specialized communication. This is because teachers and researchers are not oblivious to the demands of the world of work where the need to use instrumental Spanish that reflects the discursive practices of certain specialties and professions is noticed. To face this challenge, many teachers are forced to focus less on the general language and more on the specialized language, which is giving rise to a new teaching identity that is little or badly identified by the scientific community. The present contribution seeks, precisely, to identify the professional profile of university professors and researchers who intervene in the broad field of specialized Spanish. To achieve this, we will base ourselves on the results of a first international survey dedicated to inquiring about the current state of the subject worldwide and then carry out a kind of "robot portrait" of those who are dedicated to teaching and researching this expanding discipline. Through a detailed analysis of indicators that will allow us to synthesize the main current trends, we will transfer some conclusions about the majority profile of those who have incorporated specialized Spanish into their work identity, providing unpublished data mainly on the subject being taught, the training received and the key competences that are needed to teach it, the teaching method, the topics that are investigated as well as the changes that are considered necessary to consolidate specialized Spanish as a recognizable and recognized object of study. ; No escapa al observador avezado que las evoluciones recientes en la enseñanza y la investigación en español como lengua extranjera acuerdan un papel preponderante a todos los aspectos relacionados con la comunicación especializada. Esto se debe a que los docentes e investigadores no permanecen ajenos a las exigencias del mundo del trabajo donde se advierte la necesidad de utilizar un español instrumental que refleje las prácticas discursivas propias de ciertas especialidades y profesiones. Para hacer frente a este desafío, muchos profesores se ven obligados a focalizarse menos en la lengua general y más en la lengua especializada, lo que está haciendo emerger una nueva identidad docente poco o mal identificada por la comunidad científica. La presente contribución busca, precisamente, identificar el perfil profesional de profesores e investigadores universitarios que intervienen en el amplio campo del español de especialidad. Para lograrlo, nos basaremos en los resultados de una primera encuesta internacional dedicada a indagar sobre el estado actual del tema a nivel mundial para luego realizar una especie de “retrato robot” de quienes se dedican a enseñar y a investigar esta disciplina en expansión. A través de un análisis pormenorizado de indicadores que permitirán sintetizar las principales tendencias actuales, transferiremos algunas conclusiones sobre el perfil mayoritario de quienes han incorporado el español de especialidad a su identidad laboral suministrando datos inéditos principalmente sobre la materia que se enseña, la formación recibida y las competencias clave que se necesitan para enseñarla, la modalidad de enseñanza, las temáticas que se investigan como así tambien los cambios que se consideran necesarios para consolidar el español de especialidad como objeto de estudio reconocible y reconocido. ; Il n'échappe pas à l'observateur chevronné que les développements récents de l'enseignement et de la recherche en espagnol langue étrangère accordent un rôle prépondérant à tous les aspects liés à la communication spécialisée. En effet, les enseignants et les chercheurs ne sont pas inconscients des exigences du monde du travail où se fait remarquer la nécessité d'utiliser un espagnol instrumental qui reflète les pratiques discursives de certaines spécialités et professions. Pour faire face à ce défi, de nombreux enseignants sont obligés de se concentrer moins sur la langue générale et plus sur la langue spécialisée, ce qui donne lieu à une nouvelle identité pédagogique peu ou mal identifiée par la communauté scientifique. La présente contribution cherche, précisément, à identifier le profil professionnel des professeurs du supérieur et des chercheurs qui interviennent dans le vaste domaine de l'espagnol de spécialité. Pour y parvenir, nous nous baserons sur les résultats d'une première enquête internationale dédiée à établir l'état actuel du sujet dans le monde. Nous réaliserons ensuite une sorte de «portrait robot» des collègues qui se consacrent à l'enseignement et à la recherche de cette discipline en expansion. Grâce à une analyse détaillée des indicateurs qui nous permettront de synthétiser les principales tendances actuelles, nous transférerons quelques conclusions sur le profil majoritaire de ceux qui ont intégré l'espagnol de spécialité dans leur identité professionnelle, en fournissant des données inédites principalement sur la matière enseignée, la formation reçue et les compétences clés nécessaires pour l'enseigner, la méthode d'enseignement, les sujets étudiés ainsi que les changements jugés nécessaires pour consolider l'espagnol de spécialité en tant qu'objet d'étude reconnaissable et reconnu.
