Nevertheless, they were really frequent in literary language in Classic Ages. The goal of our paper will be to clarify which have been the syntactic and semantic clues in the process of grammaticalization experienced by 'orilla' up to coming out the three results testified at present: prepositional locutions, preposition and adverb. To sum up, we try to make a deserved memorial for rural speech that would show that, actually, these varieties keep themselves the most precious piece of our whole linguistic thesaurus ; : Los usos resultantes de la gramaticalización del sustantivo de origen latino 'or??lla', diminutivo de 'ora', se hallan en la actualidad restringidos a ciertas localidades de la zona de Castilla. Sin embargo, su empleo fue profuso en la lengua literaria de época clásica. El objeto de nuestra comunicación será aclarar cuáles han sido las claves sintácticas y semánticas del proceso de gramaticalización sufrido por 'orilla' hasta desembocar en las tres soluciones actualmente testimoniadas: locuciones prepositivas, preposición y adverbio.
