[ES] Los plásticos se encuentran actualmente entre uno de los tipos de contaminación que más preocupa a la comunidad científica. Su tamaño, forma y colores diversos, los hacen especialmente peligrosos para la fauna que habitan el medio marino, ya que son fácilmente confundibles con alimento, pudiendo provocar multitud de diversos daños internos en el organismo que lo ingiere así como la biomagnificación de elementos tóxicos. El mar Mediterráneo es especialmente sensible a este tipo de contaminación ya que, además de ser el mar con más tránsito de buques del mundo, su morfología de cuenca casi cerrada y rodeada de países desarrollados o en desarrollo con elevada población costera, provoca una elevada emisión de plásticos al mar. El presente trabajo se centrará en realizar un estudio bibliográfico preliminar para tratar de determinar cuáles son las concentraciones actuales de plásticos en el mar Mediterráneo y trazar un modelo conceptual y cuantitativo, utilizando la modelización de sistemas (en lenguaje Stella®), del ciclo de vida del plástico, desde que sale de la fábrica hasta que llega al mar, con tal de proponer medidas para minimizar lo máximo posible la contaminación final del medio ambiente. La herramienta de modelización permitirá generar diferentes escenarios para comparar la efectividad de las diferentes medidas de gestión. ; [EN] Plastics are currently among the types of pollution of greatest concern to the scientific community. Their size, shape and diverse colors make them especially dangerous for the fauna that inhabit the marine environment, since they are easily confused with food, can cause a multitude of diverse internal damages in the organism that ingests them, as well as the biomagnification of toxic elements. The Mediterranean Sea is especially sensitive to this type of pollution due to being the sea with the highest number of ships in the world, its almost closed basin morphology, surrounded by developed or developing countries with a high coastal population, causes a high emission of plastics into the sea. This work will focus on a preliminary literature study to try to determine what are the current concentrations of plastics in the Mediterranean Sea and to draw a conceptual and quantitative model, using systems modeling (in Stella® language), of the life cycle of plastic, from the time it leaves the factory until it reaches the sea, in order to propose measures to minimize as much as possible the final pollution of the environment.
