Abstract:
Cross-cultural research can be an essential bridge for bringing societies and culturesin different lands together. Thus it can promote a global village in which culturalunderstanding is important for co-existence. There are many risks and challenges incross-cultural research. This chapter attempts to raise the awareness of some challengesfacing researchers, particularly for those who have little intercultural experience. Manyissues and problems facing researchers can easily lead to confusion, frustration andhostility. This chapter focuses on the following aspects: linguistic interference, researchmethodology in cultural practices, and inter/intra-cultural awareness on research ethics.
