Abstract:
Die vorliegende Arbeit untersucht die sog. differentielle Objektmarkierung (DOM) im Spanischen. Bei diesem Phänomen handelt es sich um die Markierung des direkten Objekts, die nur unter bestimmten semantischen Bedingungen eintritt, d.h. die Markierung des direkten Objekts im Spanischen ist unter bestimmten Umständen obligatorisch (i), optional (ii) oder ungrammatisch (iii). (i) Pedro ve *(a) Maria. Pedro sieht *(A) Maria (ii) Pedro ve (a) una enfermera. Pedro sieht (A) eine Krankenschwester (iii) Pedro ve (*a) una lámpara. Pedro sieht (*A) eine Lampe ‚Pedro sieht Maria / eine Krankenschwester / eine Lampe‘. Die differentielle Objektmarkierung ist in vielen Sprachen unterschiedlicher Sprachfamilien zu finden und ihre semantischen Trigger scheinen häufig die gleichen zu sein: die Belebtheit, die Definitheit und die Spezifizität. Die vorliegende Arbeit hat sich nun zur Aufgabe gemacht, mit Hilfe von Daten aus anderen Sprachen (wie dem Türkischen und dem Russischen) die Natur der DOM im Allgemeinen zu beschreiben und ein Modell zu entwickeln, das in der Lage ist, das Vorkommen der Markierung im Spanischen vorauszusagen. Dabei wird man auf einen zusätzlichen Faktor stoßen: die Substituierbarkeit. Einige Arbeiten definieren sie als Spezifizität, es lässt sich jedoch zeigen, dass sie von der Spezifizität getrennt werden muss. ; The present paper deals with differential object marking (DOM) in Spanish, i.e. the marking of direct objects which is realized only under specific semantic conditions. That is to say that the marking of direct objects in Spanish can be either obligatory (i), optional (ii) or ungrammatical (iii). (i) Pedro ve *(a) Maria. Pedro sees *(A) Maria (ii) Pedro ve (a) una enfermera. Pedro sees (A) a/one nurse (iii) Pedro ve (*a) una lámpara. Pedro sees (*A) a/one lamp ‘Pedro sees Maria / a nurse / a lamp’. The phenomenon of differential object marking cannot only be observed in many languages belonging to different language families but also seems to have the same semantic triggers in all those languages, namely animacy, definiteness and specificity. The aim of this paper is to investigate the nature of DOM in general and to develop a model capable of predicting whether object marking is realized or not by looking at data from other languages (e.g. Russian, Turkish). By doing so, substitutability will be identified to be yet another criterion to predict DOM in Spanish and which has to be distinguished from specificity.
