Abstract: The paper aims to discuss the Fichtean reception of mesmerism and critically evaluate the Fichtean interpretation of rapport as an instrument to develop a reflection around the conditions of possibility for elevation to the transcendental point of view. My thesis is that Fichte operates a selective assimilation of animal magnetism, but rejects its fundamental elements. In particular, Fichte explores the possibility of understanding the Wissenchaftslehre as a philosophical approach that aims to overcome the limits that define the concreteness of the subject. However, in restructuring and rethinking the approach of animal magnetism as a form of linguistic interaction, he approaches modern conceptions of magic as a potencialization of freedom and human performance. To demonstrate this thesis I will problematize the structure of magic between modern and contemporary age from the problem of communication (§ 1); place in this context the Fichtean reflection on the structure of the doctrine of science as incommunicable knowledge (§ 2); problematize the Fichtean reception of mesmerism in the Diary on animal magnetism of 1813 (§ 3); apply the results of this problematization in the reading of the Fichtean reflection on the relationship between perception and attention in the lessons about the Tatsachen des Bewusstseins of 1811 (§ 4).
