Abstract:
Die jüngste Flüchtlingszuwanderung nach Europa und Deutschland gilt als zentrale Herausforderung für das zukünftige gesellschaftliche Zusammenleben. Dabei wird es vor allem um die Frage gehen, wie Geflüchtete langfristig integriert werden können. Konsens ist, dass der Verlauf der Integration in zentralen Dimensionen wie Spracherwerb, Wohnen, Arbeit und soziale Netzwerke durch die Geflüchteten selbst und durch die aufnehmende Gesellschaft gestaltet wird. Daher haben wir in unserem Projekt beide Seiten betrachtet und methodisch einen qualitativen Zugang aus Interviews mit Geflüchteten und zentralen Akteur_innen der aufnehmenden Gesellschaft gewählt. Der Verlauf der Integration wird durch die jeweiligen lokalen Kontexte beeinflusst. Daher führten wir unsere Untersuchung in Regionen mit unterschiedlichen räumlichen und gesellschaftlichen Voraussetzungen, der Stadt Köln und dem Landkreis Heinsberg, durch. Mit dem Projekt sollen Erkenntnisse über die Integration von Geflüchteten gewonnen werden, die das Zusammenleben von Geflüchteten und aufnehmender Gesellschaft unterstützen können. ; The recent migration of refugees to Europe and Germany is supposed to be a central challenge for future social cohesion. A crucial question is how refugees can be integrated in the long term. It is agreed that the process of integration in central dimensions such as language acquisition, housing, work and social networks is shaped by both the refugees themselves and by the receiving society. Therefore we have considered both sides in our project and have chosen a qualitative approach that combines interviews with refugees and interviews with key actors of the host society. The integration process is influenced by the respective local contexts. Therefore, we conducted our research in regions with different spatial and social conditions, the city of Cologne and the district of Heinsberg. The project aims to gain insights into the integration of refugees that can support social relations between refugees and host society.
