Abstract:
La Francophonie participe, depuis 2001, à un dialogue nourri avec des organisations homologues rassemblant les aires hispanophone et lusophone dans le vaste programme de coopération internationale des trois espaces linguistiques dont la vocation est de renforcer la diversité linguistique et culturelle par la mise en place d’actions conjointes, autour de valeurs communes dont la latinité constitue la pierre angulaire. Concevoir la diversité linguistique pan-romane comme une véritable richesse à explorer devient plus que jamais une nécessité. Près d’un milliard de personnes dans le monde ont une langue romane en partage et près de 70 états ou gouvernements ont une langue officielle d’origine latine ; c’est cet immense potentiel linguistique, décliné dans de nombreuses initiatives multilatérales et projets de coopération, que cet article se propose d’aborder. ; Since 2001, the Organisationinternationaledela Francophonie (International Organization of the French-Speaking World) has been engaged in a fruitful dialogue with other similar organizations representing Spanish- and Portuguese-speaking countries and cultures in a vast program of international cooperation between these three linguistic spaces; the three share the aim of promoting linguistic and cultural diversity through joint actions on the basis of common values. Latin-ness is the cornerstone principle of these values. It is more necessary than ever to conceive of pan-Romance linguistic diversity as a truly rich resource to explore. Nearly a billion people share a Romance language, and nearly seventy nations or governments have an official language with Latin roots. This article explores this immense linguistic potential, which takes the form of numerous multilateral initiatives and cooperative projects.
