Abstract: Language, communication and culture are inseparable that one needs high level of intercultural communicative competence if he hopes to master English well. The aim of this paper is to explore Chinese non-English majors’ intercultural communicative competence, especially the cognitive dimension, intercultural awareness. Some pedagogical suggestions on cultivating students’ intercultural communicative competence were put forward at the end of this paper.
