Abstract:
Relatório de estágio de mestrado em Tradução e Comunicação Multilingue ; O presente relatório, intitulado como “A Vertente turística da Tradução e da Comunicação Multilingue: o caso do Posto de Turismo de Braga”, foi redigido no âmbito do Mestrado em Tradução e Comunicação Multilingue e nele são abordados e analisados todos os aspetos respeitantes a um estágio, de quatro meses de duração, efetuado no Posto Turismo de Braga. O Estágio teve como principais tarefas a tradução de conteúdos turísticos, de português para inglês, que foram posteriormente publicados no website VisitBraga. Aos fins de semana, a minha função era o atendimento ao público no Posto de Turismo nas línguas portuguesa, inglesa e espanhola. No primeiro capítulo deste relatório é feita uma abordagem teórica de conceitos relevantes para a temática do estágio: A definição de turismo e das subcategorias em que este se pode dividir, com especial enfoque no Turismo Cultural; A tradução turística e os seus desafios assim como algumas das estratégias possíveis para os ultrapassar, abordando nomeadamente as que são apresentadas por autores como Vinay & Darbelnet, Hans J. Vermeer e Anthony Pym; A comunicação multilingue, atentando especialmente na especificidade da linguagem turística e na dimensão cultural. Por sua vez, no segundo capítulo, consiste na apresentação da entidade acolhedora, do Posto de Turismo de Braga, e das atividades realizadas durante o tempo de estágio. No terceiro capítulo, é feita uma análise crítica de todo o trabalho realizado. A reflexão efetuada teve sempre em consideração os conceitos abordados na componente teórica e debruçou-se sobre as tarefas realizadas e as respetivas dificuldades, assim como sobre a forma como a estagiária logrou em ultrapassá-las. Neste capítulo é igualmente feita uma apreciação crítica do estágio, na qual a aluna reflete sobre a qualidade quer do estágio, quer do trabalho que desenvolveu e menciona também a forma como saiu enriquecida deste estágio. Por fim, é apresentada uma conclusão onde se ressalva a importância de uma boa comunicação multilingue, especificamente no setor turístico, e do domínio de competências linguísticas e culturais por parte de um tradutor, de forma a serem atendidas todas as exigências comunicativas e culturais dos turistas. ; This internship report, entitled as “A Vertente turística da Tradução e da Comunicação Multilingue: o caso do Posto de Turismo de Braga” (in English: The Touristic aspect of Translation and Multilingual Communication: the case of the Braga’s Tourism Office) was written within the scope of the master’s degree in Translation and Multilingual Communication, and it addresses and analyzes all aspects relating to a four-month internship, carried out at the Braga’s Tourism Office. The Internship consisted of the translation of tourism contents, from Portuguese to English, which were later published on the VisitBraga website. On weekends, my task was the customer service at the Tourism Office, in Portuguese, English, and Spanish languages. On the first chapter of this report it is presented a theoretical approach to concepts that are relevant to the theme of the internship: The definition of tourism and the subcategories into which it can be divided, highlighting the Cultural Tourism; Tourism translation and its challenges, as well as some of the possible strategies to overcome them, namely those presented by authors such as Vinay & Darbelnet, Hans J. Vermeer and Anthony Pym; Multilingual communication, paying special attention to the specificity of tourist language and the cultural dimension. In turn, this second chapter consists of the presentation of Braga Tourism Office and the activities carried out during the internship period. On the third chapter, there’s a critical analysis of all the work which was carried out. The reflection always considered the concepts covered in the theoretical component and focused on the carried-out tasks and the respective difficulties, as well as on how the intern managed to overcome them. On this third chapter, a critical appraisal of the internship was also made, in which the student reflects on the quality of both the internship and the work she developed and mentions how she was enriched from this internship. Lastly, it is presented a conclusion in which is emphasized the importance of great multilingual communication, specifically in the tourism sector, as well as the mastery of linguistic and cultural skills by a translator, to meet all communicative and cultural requirements of tourists.
