Abstract:
National audience ; Le langage, comme la communication animale, permet aux individus de transmettre différentes informations depuis leurs caractéristiques individuelles jusqu’à leur appartenance sociale et géographique. Des phénomènes de convergence peuvent apparaître dans les interactions sociales ; les partenaires ajustant ou non leurs productions en fonction de leur identité et de la nature de leur relation. Ces phénomènes ont été bien décrits chez les adultes, tant chez l’homme que chez l’animal ; en revanche, la question de leur ontogenèse reste largement inexplorée. L’étude a porté sur les ajustements langagiers d’enfants de 10-11 ans au sein de leur réseau amical dans des villages Haut-Savoyards où le français régional contient des traits issus de la langue francoprovençale. Après avoir identifié le réseau amical de ces enfants, 13 enfants ont été enregistrés en jeu libre dyadique avec trois amis de même sexe à l’identité sociale contrastée selon leur lieu de naissance et la durée de leur relation : natifs connus depuis longtemps, non natifs connus depuis longtemps, et non natifs connus depuis peu, soit 39 dyades. Les garçons modifient leurs usages dialectaux en fonction de l’identité de l’ami ; ils utilisent plus fréquemment les variétés dialectales avec les amis natifs qu’avec les amis non natifs. Ces ajustements reflètent les usages de leurs amis. De tels ajustements ne s’observent pas chez les filles qui utilisent moins fréquemment les variétés dialectales que les garçons. Ainsi, dès l’enfance, les garçons apparaissent comme des acteurs clés dans le maintien et la diffusion des dialectes au sein du réseau social local.
