Perspektiven auf Mehrsprachigkeit in Südtirol

Abstract: Diese Arbeit beschäftigt sich mit Mehrsprachigkeit in Südtirol, eine Provinz in Norditalien die aufgrund historischer Entwicklungen drei Sprachgruppen beherbergt. Die deutsche, italienische und ladinische Kultur und Sprache treffen auf dem Gebiet aufeinander, was die Frage der Identitätszugehörigkeit der Bewohner teilweise schwierig macht. Die Arbeit skizziert, welche Formen der Mehrsprachigkeit in Südtirol auftreten und wie sich diese auf das Sprachverhalten und die Spracheinstellung der Südtiroler*innen auswirken. Die Außen- und Innenperspektiven auf Mehrsprachigkeit in der Provinz wird gezeigt, wobei letztere anhand einer empirischen Studie mittels Fragebogen und Interviews einen Einblick in die Sprachbiographien, die Spracheinstellung und den Sprachgebrauch der Befragten bietet. Die Ergebnisse der Studie zeigen, dass die ethnische Identität für viele Menschen einen hohen Stellenwert einnimmt, die Sprache dabei eine zentrale Rolle spielt und die Frage nach Zugehörigkeit sehr individuell und sprachbiographisch zu beantworten ist. ; This thesis discusses multilingualism in South Tyrol, a province in northern Italy which, due to historical developments, is home to three language groups. The German, Italian and Ladin culture and language meet in the area, which makes the question of the identity of the inhabitants sometimes difficult. The work sketches which forms of multilingualism occur in South Tyrol and how they affect the language behaviour and attitude of South Tyroleans, by showing the external and internal perspectives on multilingualism. The empirical study consists of questionnaires and interviews and focusses an insight into the language biographies, language attitudes and language use of the participants. The results of the study show that ethnic identity is of great importance to many people, that language plays a central role in this, and that the question of belonging can only be answered very individually and language biographically. ; La tesi si occupa del multilinguismo in Alto Adige, una provincia dell'Italia settentrionale che, a causa degli sviluppi storici, ospita tre gruppi linguistici. La cultura e la lingua tedesca, italiana e ladina si incontrano sul territorio, il che rende in parte difficile la questione dell'appartenenza identitaria degli abitanti. La tesi illustra quali forme di plurilinguismo si manifestano in Alto Adige e come influenzano il comportamento e l'atteggiamento linguistico degli altoatesini. Vengono mostrate le prospettive esterne ed interne del plurilinguismo nella provincia, quest'ultima offre una panoramica delle biografie linguistiche, degli atteggiamenti linguistici e dell'uso della lingua degli intervistati attraverso una ricerca empirica con questionari e interviste. I risultati dell'analisi mostrano che l'identità etnica è di grande importanza per molte persone, che la lingua ha un ruolo centrale in questo, e che la questione dell'appartenenza può essere risolta solo in modo individuale.
