Der Pflege- und Betreuungs-beruf ist eine physisch und psychisch anspruchsvolle Tätigkeit. Pflege- und Betreuungs-kräfte mit Migrationshintergrund erfahren darüber hinaus Formen der Diskriminierung und Benachteiligung am Arbeitsplatz. Eine funktionierende Interaktion im pflegerischen Team, aber auch im Kontakt mit KlientInnen und PatientInnen wird durch eine einge-schränkte sprachliche Verständigung erschwert. Die vorliegende Dissertation identifiziert arbeitsplatzbezogene Belastungen und Ressourcen von Pflegekräften mit Migrationshin-tergrund in der ambulanten Pflege sowie von 24-Stunden-Betreuungskräften. In einem systematischen Review wurde zunächst der Stand der Forschungsliteratur zur Gesundheit von Pflegekräften mit Migrationshintergrund erfasst. Diese Ergebnisse bildeten dann die Grundlage für zwei Interviewstudien mit 48 Pflegekräften mit und ohne Migrationshinter-grund und neun ausländischen 24-Stunden-Betreuungskräften. Pflegekräfte mit Migrati-onshintergrund unterscheiden sich von ihren einheimischen KollegInnen in ihrer physio-logischen Reaktion auf Stress und dadurch, ob und wie häufig sie berufsbedingte Be-schwerden wie Rückenschmerzen im Betrieb melden. Zeitdruck, Mobilisierung von Klien-tInnen oder PatientInnen, eine mangelnde Wertschätzung oder das persönliche Schicksal ihrer KlientInnen werden im Allgemeinen als belastend erlebt, während ein divergieren-des Verständnis von Verhaltensmustern und professioneller Pflege und eine nicht funkti-onierende Kommunikation die Zusammenarbeit beeinträchtigt. Pflegekräfte mit Migrati-onshintergrund erleben Vorurteile, verbale und sexuelle Belästigung durch ihre KlientIn-nen, teilen solche Erfahrungen aber eher selten mit. Der Austausch mit KollegInnen und Vorgesetzten auf Augenhöhe sowie die Sinnhaftigkeit ihres Berufs helfen ihnen, berufsbe-dingten Stress zu bewältigen. Ständige Verfügbarkeit, Verständigungsschwierigkeiten und interpersonelle Konflikte sind alltägliche Belastungen für ausländische 24-Stunden-Betreuungskräfte und führen bis hin zu Erschöpfung, Schlaflosigkeit und erhöhter Reiz-barkeit. Dagegen werden Unterstützung durch Dritte, emotionale und räumliche Distanz zur Betreuungssituation, das Erleben von Dankbarkeit, Akzeptanz und Wertschätzung und die finanzielle Absicherung als Ressourcen genannt. Pflegekräfte mit Migrationshinter-grund berichten über spezifische Belastungen und unterscheiden sich in ihren Erklärungs- und Deutungsmustern voneinander. 24-Stunden-Betreuungskräfte berichten über eine große Arbeitsmotivation und enorme Belastungen. ; Live-in caregivers increasingly take over household- and person-related services for the elderly in need of care in Germany. Those services as well as nursing care are physically and mentally demanding tasks. Migrant care workers experience discrimination and are often disadvantaged at their workplace. A functioning interaction in the nursing team, but also in contact with clients and patients is challenged by limited linguistic competence. This dissertation identifies job-related barriers and resources of migrant outpatient nurs-es and live-in caregivers. International publications that explicitly focus on migrant nurses' health were identified and synthesized in a systematic review. The findings then formed the basis for two interview studies with 48 migrant and autochthonous nurses as well as nine foreign live-in caregivers. Migrant nurses differ in their physiological reaction to stress as well as whether and how frequently they report work-related complaints such as back pain at work. Time pressure, mobilization of clients or patients, a lack of appreciation or the personal fate of their cli-ents are generally experienced as stressful, while a diverging understanding of behavior patterns and professional care and a non-functioning communication impair the coopera-tion. Migrant nurses experience prejudices, verbal and sexual harassment by their clients, but rarely communicate those experiences. The verbal exchange with colleagues and su-pervisors at eye level as well as the sense-making of being a nurse help migrant nurses to cope with work-related stress. Constant availability, communication difficulties and inter-personal conflicts are daily burdens for foreign live-in caregivers and can lead to exhaus-tion, insomnia and increased irritability. Support, however from third parties, emotional and local distance from the direct care situation, experiencing gratitude, acceptance as well as appreciation and financial security are mentioned as resources. Migrant nurses experience specific burdens and differ in their patterns of explanation and interpretation. Live-in caregivers report high work motivation but enormous stress.
