Abstract:
Abstract: This text aims to offer unpublished contributions to studies on discursive genres. Based on an analysis of a set of textual productions of apprentices from public basic education, we aimed to map linguistic strategies used in opinion texts for the purpose of diagnosing more recurrent cognitive-linguistic operations in textual productions which require a critical positioning of the author. The methodology used for data collection is based on computational resources from corpus linguistics and data compilation in digital media and, for analysis, sociocognitive approach. In this study, the understanding of the structure and linguistic composition of opinion texts as well as the self stage of the students, with implications for the teaching of textual production in basic education, are prioritized. The results point out that constructions with the verb ‘ser’ (to be), in function of copula, are productive in the argumentative composition of opinative texts written by apprentices. These results allow the iconic correlation between low syntactic complexity of the statements of the texts and the unevenness of cultural awareness, according to Damásio (2011), which requires more specific and directed interventions by these variables at this stage of learning. Keywords: discursive genre; cultural awareness; cognition; technologies.
