Weinheim u.a. : Beltz 2007, S. 226-244 (2007) Abstract: Sprachbewusstheit entwickelt sich in der Fremdsprache auf Grund eines aufmerksamen Umgangs mit der neuen Sprache. Sie befähigt Lernende, die fremde Sprache kontrolliert anzuwenden und Verstöße gegen Regelungen im Bereich sprachlicher Formen und Strukturen sowie des Sprachhandelns zu erkennen und gegebenenfalls zu korrigieren. Damit wird jedoch nicht ausgesagt, dass diese Entwicklung in jedem Fall eintritt. Im englischen Teil von DESI wird untersucht, welche Kompetenzen die Schülerinnen und Schüler auf Grund ihrer unterrichtlichen Lernerfahrungen in Grammatik und sprachlichem Handeln abrufen und einsetzen können. Eine spezifische Teilkompetenz ist dabei die Fähigkeit zur Sprachreflexion. Sie beruht in der Regel auf Wissen über Sprache (explizites/deklaratorisches/verbalisierbares Wissen), während die Teilkompetenz der sprachlichen Korrekturfähigkeit stärker vom Wissen des Sprachgebrauchs oder des Sprachgefühls (vorwiegend implizites und prozedurales Wissen) bestimmt ist.
