Abstract:
Der Artikel beschäftigt sich mit den Argumenten und Auswirkungen der Abschaffung des Unterrichts in Herkunftssprachen an bayerischen Schulen. Es wird argumentiert, dass die bildungspolitischen Beweggründe, die zur Verbannung des Herkunftssprachenunterrichts aus dem Regelunterricht angeführt wurden, sowohl bildungspolitischen Irrtümern unterliegen als auch dem aktuellen empirisch belegbaren wissenschaftlichen Kenntnisstand der Zweitspracherwerbs- und Mehrsprachigkeitsforschung widersprechen. Gleichzeitig wird die Effektstärke des HSU kritisch hinterfragt und Prämissen abgeleitet, die eine erfolgreichere Gestaltung durch eine gleichzeitige Förderung in der Erst- und Zweitsprache ermöglichen. Aktuelle Entwicklungen, Bairisch als Herkunftssprache zu fördern, werden dabei berücksichtigt. (DIPF/Orig.)
