Abstract:
Il ritorno alla “località”, anche mediante il dialetto, quale simbolo di microspazialità fisica e culturale, con lo scopo di creare il necessario contrappunto al senso di straniamento e alienazione determinato dal modello globale, sembra particolarmente vero per la canzone dialettale contemporanea. Non sarà un caso, dunque, che molti autori neodialettali, già impegnati nella espressione di un’identità di luogo mediante il ricorso al dialetto che, in quanto tale, si configura come codice diatopicamente marcato e quindi intimamente legato a uno specifico spazio, non sanno fare a meno di richiamare nei propri testi, a puntello della “località” linguistica, contesti fisici del loro vissuto. Potrebbe, allora, essere utile provare a seguire le linee di svolgimento di queste due tipologie di approccio alla località: da un lato il richiamo, per lo più mediante la toponomastica dialettale, a specifici setting fisici utili a simboleggiare se non a rappresentare la proiezione verso il microluogo come “ritorno alle radici” in funzione antiglobale; dall’altro l’uso di un dialetto non più “locale” (cioè “regionale” o, comunque, “altro dalla lingua nazionale”), bensì “localissimo” in quanto caratterizzato, soprattutto sul piano fonetico e lessicale, da tratti che ne garantiscono l’autenticità diatopica e la coincidenza col micro-luogo di provenienza dell’artista che ne faccia uso. In quest’ultimo caso sarà interessante notare come, nell’ambito di una opzione linguistica pro loco, finiscano per acquistare grande dignità lirica anche varietà dialettali fino a qualche anno fa ritenute “rozze e volgari” e comunque inadatte a essere impiegate in funzione poetica. ; The current trend to recover “locality” by means of the dialect seems to be particularly true for Sicilian dialectal songs, since it is regarded as a symbol of a physical and cultural micro-space opposing the sense of estrangement and alienation caused by globalization. Many singers actually seem to be deeply involved in expressing a place identity by using their dialect which, as such, represents a powerful device to underline their intimate relation with the place they come from. In their dialectal texts singers further underline this place identity by recalling physical settings related with the space of the dialect they use. Thus, it would be interesting to try to follow these two different, and often integrated, approaches to locality: on the one hand, we find the constant reference, thanks to the use of local toponyms, to specific physical settings useful to symbolize the return to one's roots in opposition to the global village; on the other hand, we observe the use of the dialect which does not simply appear as a “local” dialect (i.e. a regional dialect or something different from national and official languages) but a “very very local” dialect within a pro loco linguistic choice. In the latter case, some dialectal varieties, generally regarded as rude or even “shubby” and, however not good enough to be employed for “poetic” purposes, are instead currently employed as good linguistic codes useful to satisfy the audience’s poetic expectations.
