This paper discusses a hypothesis according to which this is due to the history of its speakers. Two contrary movements can be observed: a movement of convergence due to population contacts between speakers of SBW and both Niger-Congo and other Chadic languages; and a movement of dialect differentiation among former hill-dwellers whose geographical and ecological conditions allowed them to enjoy limited self-sufficiency. This led to the creation of a local Sprachbund. Evolutionary movements could be imagined that, rather than following the branching model, would be rhizome-like and behave heterogeneously by jumping from one already differentiated line to another. ; La langue zaar a des propriétés qui la distinguent typologiquement des auters langues Sud-Bauchi occidentales. Cet article avance l'hypothèse selon laquelle ces traits originaux seraient dus à l'histoire des locuteurs de la langue. Deux mouvements contradictoires sont observés: un mouvement de convergence dû aux contacts avec des populations Niger-Congo et d'autres langues tchadiques; et un mouvement de différnciation dialectale entre des locuteurs anciennement installés dans des collines dont les conditions géographiques et écologiques favorisaient une quasi-autarcie. Ces deux mouvements ont conduit à la création d'un Sprachbund local. On peut imaginer un schéma d'évolution qui, plutôt que de suivre le moudèle arborescent, serait de type rhizomique, et se comporterait de manière hétérogène, en sautant d'une ligne déjà différenciée à une autre.
