Toward Automating Intelligent Information Processing.
In: DTIC AND NTIS (1997)
Abstract: In order to embed intelligence into automated systems, we must be able to identify basic principles upon which an intelligent information processing model can be constructed. This means that we must be able to describe the 'process' of intelligence. However, the foundations of intelligence do not exist in a tangible form. As a step towards addressing this unwieldy situation, we discuss various related topics involving several disciplines. These and other important concepts must be considered in concert if intelligence is ever to be automated. Artificial intelligence and neural network technologies hold much promise for the automation of intelligence. These technologies are also relevant to various missions at Rome Laboratory. We discuss how the automation of intelligent information processing impacts the methods of reliability science and electromagnetic technologies.
