Abstract:
This paper presents an analysis of epistemic modalities (Papafragou 2006; Willer, 2013) identified in the discourse of seven language teachers, as they were interviewed. These epistemic modalities are understood here as discursive elements, by means of which the teachers position themselves in relation to their actions. The analysis suggests aspects of the teachers' teaching practice in relation to which they would show a somewhat undeveloped awareness. Such epistemic modalities point out aspects of the teaching act that could be mediated, and thus lead to change. Finally, this paper enumerates the methodological choices made in a previous research, for which the interview was used as a tool for understanding the teaching act. ; Nous nous intéressons à des modalités épistémiques (Papafragou, 2006 ; Willer, 2013) repérées dans le discours de sept enseignants de langue en situation d'entretien – semi-directif et d'auto-confrontation. Ces modalités épistémiques sont comprises comme des éléments discursifs, au travers desquels les enseignants se positionnent par rapport à leurs actions, face au chercheur. L'analyse suggère des aspects de la pratique enseignante dont les enseignants-informateurs montreraient ne pas avoir une conscience développée. Elles pointent vers des aspects de l'agir professoral qui pourraient faire l'objet d'une médiation, en vue d'une évolution. Enfin, notre proposition répertorie les choix méthodologiques opérés dans une recherche précédente au cours de laquelle l'entretien a été employé comme outil de compréhension de l'agir professoral.
