Abstract: Η σημασία της πρώιμης παρέμβασης για τα μικρά παιδιά με διάχυτες αναπτυξιακές διαταραχές και τις οικογένειές τους αναδεικνύεται από ένα πλήθος ερευνητικών δεδομένων. Παρά το γεγονός ότι η συμμετοχή των γονέων θεωρείται απαραίτητο και ουσιαστικό κομμάτι των προγραμμάτων πρώιμης παρέμβασης και αναδεικνύεται ως καθοριστικός παράγοντας της αποτελεσματικότητάς τους, από την ανασκόπηση της βιβλιογραφίας φαίνεται πως οι εμπειρίες τους από τη συμμετοχή σε σχετικά προγράμματα δεν έχουν διερευνηθεί επαρκώς. Στόχος της παρούσας μελέτης ήταν η διερεύνηση της εμπειρίας των μητέρων από τη συμμετοχή του παιδιού τους σε ένα πρόγραμμα πρώιμης παρέμβασης για παιδιά με διαταραχές αυτιστικού φάσματος κι άλλες σοβαρές αναπτυξιακές δυσκολίες. Τα δεδομένα προσεγγίστηκαν ποιοτικά και το δείγμα αποτέλεσαν πέντε μητέρες παιδιών που συμμετείχαν στο πρόγραμμα. Για τη συλλογή των δεδομένων διεξήχθησαν ημι-δομημένες συνεντεύξεις ενώ για την ανάλυση των αποτελεσμάτων εφαρμόστηκε η μέθοδος της θεματικής ανάλυσης. Although parental involvement is considered a necessary and essential part of early intervention programs as well as a key factor in their effectiveness, the literature review shows that their experiences of participation in relevant programs have not been sufficiently explored. The aim of the present study was to investigate the experience of mothers from their child's participation in an early intervention program for children with autism spectrum disorders and other serious developmental difficulties. A qualitative approach was adopted and the sample consisted of five mothers of children who participated in the program.
