Abstract:
Dienstag nach Ostern finden in den Dörfern Frascineto, Eianina und Civita die Vallje statt. Vor allem Frascineto ist für seine streng traditionelle Art bekannt, dieses Fest zu feiern. Auf der Sraße kommen sich üblicherweise zwei Gruppen entgegen, um sich in der Mitte zu kreuzen. In diesem Jahr gab es besonders viele Gruppen verschiedenen Alters, um das Rítual auch an jüngere Generationen weiterzugeben. Von den zwei Melodien, die seit den 1950er Jahren in Frasnita dokumentiert wurden, hat sich nur eine in der mündlichen Tradition bewahrt. ... : Tuesday of the Easter week is the date, when villages like Frascineto, Eianina and Civita celebrate the vallje. Probably the tradition of Frascineto is better known than any other Vallje which can be celebrated on other dates according to local customs of other village. While everyone shows up at Civita, Frascineto preserved its own tradition without getting carried away with any kind of compromises. The ritual consists of two groups processions coming from opposite ends of the same streets until the point where they will cross each other. The documented year was different, because more than two groups or processions had been shown up, there was a group of older teennagers, youngsters and even children, obviously to pass the tradition on to future generations. Among the two tunes documented since the 1950s, only one of them has prevailed in the collective memory of the living tradition. ...
