Abstract: 本稿では、子どもの言語発達保障の観点から、外国につながりのある子どもの保育における家庭との連携の重要性と課題について、文献調査により明らかにした。その結果、①学校教育および保育の場では、外国につながる子どもの日本語習得が中心的課題であること、②日本語習得については国としての支援施策が講じられているが、母語獲得・維持についての具体的な支援には至っていないこと、③乳幼児期における母語の獲得支援が重要であるという知見を踏まえると保育者と家庭の連携が必要であるが、現状では持ち物や健康面に関するやりとりが中心であり、子どもの教育に関する内容にまで踏み込めていないことを確認した。以上の点を踏まえ、保育者と家庭双方が、乳幼児期における母語尊重の重要性を認識する機会の保障の必要性と、保育者と保護者間の意思疎通の「壁」を超えるための支援の整備が不可欠であることを考察した。 ; This study investigated the literature and identified the issues and importance of cooperation with families in early childhood education and care for children with diverse cultural backgrounds, from the perspective of children’s language development. We found that(1)in school education and early childhood settings, learning Japanese is the central issue for children with diverse cultural backgrounds ;(2)there is a national policy to support Japanese language learning, but no specific support for learning and maintaining the native language;(3)because of the importance of support for early childhood native language acquisition, early childhood educators must work together with families. Currently, communication mainly relates to belongings and health matters and does not involve the details of children’s education. Based on these findings, we consider that both early childhood educators and families must be given opportunities to recognize the importance of respecting the native language during early childhood. Therefore, support is essential to overcome the communication barriers between educators and parents.
