Los nombres de marca: disponibilidad léxica y caracterización

Abstract:
In this research we analyze a corpus of brand names captured through a word association and availability test. In addition to characterizing the new center of interest, we investigate its sociolinguistic stratification, where significant differences occur in the different variables. We then contrast the repertoire with other catalogues based on brand renown and strength. Finally, we examine the features that define this lexical category: on the one hand, the external factors of the brand (scope, origin, sector, dimensions, productive category) and, on the other hand, the strictly linguistic features: language of use and naming criteria. The results suggest that the rules governing the creation and dissemination of brand names have an effect on the fixation of brand names on the mental lexicon of speakers. ; En esta investigación analizamos un corpus de nombres de marcas obtenidos mediante la prueba asociativa de disponibilidad léxica. Además de caracterizar el nuevo centro de interés, indagamos acerca de su estratificación sociolingüística, donde se producen diferencias significativas en las diferentes variables. Contrastamos a continuación el repertorio con otros catálogos basados en el renombre y fuerza de la marca. Finalmente examinamos también los rasgos que definen esta categoría léxica: por una parte, los factores externos (ámbito, procedencia, sector, dimensiones, categoría productiva) y, por otra parte, los rasgos estrictamente lingüísticos: lengua de uso y criterio denominativo. Los resultados conducen a pensar que las normas que regulan la creación y difusión de los nombres de marcas tienen efecto en la fijación de estos en el lexicón mental de los hablantes.
