Aspectos culturales de la escritura académica en segunda lengua
In: ES: Revista de filología inglesa (2002)
Abstract: English has become the language of academic written communication in the world today. But it is not always easy for a non-native to write an academic text in a foreign language. Writing in English is not simply a question of getting the syntax and the orthography right, also a number of non-linguistic factors condition systematic linguistic differences among registers. The cultural background is an important non-linguistic factor that deeply affects written communication because writing as artifact is a form of both personal and cultural expression.
