Els formants cultes: autonomia o posició fixa ; Classical combining forms: autonomy or fixed position

Abstract:
Els diferents estudis sobre la composició culta posen èmfasi en el fet que els formants poden ocupar tant una posició inicial com final, la qual cosa els diferencia clarament de l’afixació, atès que els afixos tenen una posició fixa. Amb aquest treball pretenem comprovar si realment la majoria dels formants gaudeixen d’aquesta versatilitat, per tal de determinar si es tracta d’una característica realment definidora d’aquestes partícules o si, per contra, més aviat és un tret que només presenta un conjunt reduït de casos. Per això, analitzarem els formants que recullen diferents obres lexicogràfiques en català i compararem quins casos apareixen només en una única posició i quins, per contra, poden ocupar-ne dues. En aquest sentit, proposem un estudi que parteix de l’anàlisi lexicogràfica d’aquestes unitats, que completarem amb una anàlisi contrastiva de la posició que ocupen en els compostos de què participen, car intuïm que realment només un nombre limitat de casos gaudeix d’autonomia posicional i que, per tant, no és una característica que sigui definidora a l’hora de parlar dels formants. A més, també analitzarem el tractament que han de tenir les unitats amb posició variable, ja que, si bé actualment s’ha considerat que són un mateix formant, també podria plantejar-se el fet que, en el fons, actualment siguin dos formants que, tot i tenir un mateix origen, siguin diferents per la posició i la funció sintacticosemàntica que desenvolupen en les diferents combinacions. ; Different studies of neoclassical compounding emphasise the fact that classical combining forms can occupy both the initial and final position, which clearly distinguishes them from affixes, which have a fixed position. This study seeks to ascertain whether most of the combining forms are truly this versatile in order to determine whether this is a really defining characteristic of these particles or, on the contrary, it only has a reduced case set. For this reason, we will analyse the formants who collect different lexicographic works in Catalan and compare how many cases appear in only one position and how many can occupy both. In this sense, this study is based on the lexicographic analysis of these units, which is complemented with a contrastive analysis of the position they occupy in the compounds in which they appear, because we sense that, in fact, only a limited number of cases have positional autonomy, so it is not a defining feature of combining forms. In addition, we will also analyse the way the variable units must be treated because they are now considered the same form, could also be considered in the background two combining forms, although having the same origin, they are different by the position and the syntactic and semantic function that they show in the different combinations.
