Abstract:
This is a recording of a church song composed in Eibela and sung by a choir. The transcription of this song may be found in bundle ailoa0093. ; This project consists in the documentation of Eibela, also called Aimele (ISO-639 AIL), as part of a PhD project at James Cook University which will ultimately result in a grammar of the language along with a dictionary and a corpus of texts. Eibela is a severely endangered language with 300 speakers in Lake Campbell, Western Province in Papua New Guinea. ; This is the audio recording of a church choir singing the Eibela song "Ye:si:mo:", calls for the community to come to Christian teachings. ; Grant Aiton is a PhD researcher who is recording the song, and several unidentified members of the Eibela community are performing the song. ; PhD Researcher conducting research on the Eibela language
