Contudo, são mais reduzidos aqueles que visam determinar em que medida os mesmos permitem identificar com precisão os alunos em risco na aprendizagem inicial da leitura. Esta questão constitui o principal objetivo deste estudo. Participaram no estudo 60 alunos do 1º ano de escolaridade, com idades compreendidas entre os 6 e os 8 anos. No início do 1º ano responderam a quatro provas que avaliavam os conceitos acerca do impresso, os conhecimentos acerca da escrita, o reconhecimento de letras e a consciência fonológica. No final do ano responderam a uma prova de leitura de palavras. O resultado da análise de regressão logística mostra que as variáveis em estudo não predizem o risco de leitura no final do 1º ano de escolaridade. As análises das curvas ROC apresentaram uma precisão razoável na identificação de alunos em risco na consciência fonológica. Os resultados obtidos são discutidos e são apresentadas limitações do estudo e orientações para investigações futuras. ; Several studies have verified that the basic concepts of print, knowledge about writing, letter recognition and phonological awareness are predictors of initial reading learning. However, they are smaller in order to determine the extent to which they allow to accurately identify students at risk in early reading learning. This question is the main objective of this study. Sixty students from the 1st year of schooling, aged between 6 and 8 years old, participated in the study. At the beginning of the 1st year, they responded to four tests that assessed the correct concepts of the print, knowledge about writing, letter recognition and phonological awareness. At the end of the year, they answered a word reading test. The result of the logistic regression analysis shows that the variables under study do not predict the risk of reading at the end of the 1st year of schooling. The analysis of ROC curves showed reasonable accuracy in identifying students at risk in phonological awareness. The results obtained are discussed and limitations of the study and guidelines for future investigations are presented.
