Abstract:
Neste texto fazemos uma análise de alguns aspetos sintáticos esemânticos do verbo leve dar em Português Europeu, defendendo que há pelo menosdois valores distintos deste verbo leve: um em que tem três argumentos (DAR 2)e, nessa medida, aproxima-se do verbo pleno correspondente (DAR 1) e outro emque é verdadeiramente leve e tem, pelo menos aparentemente, dois argumentos, nãosendo, portanto, ditransitivo (DAR 3). Propomos que o verbo leve DAR 2 é geradonuma posição baixa na estrutura, idêntica à do verbo pleno, distinguindo-se dele porformar um predicado complexo com o N deverbal com o qual se combina, enquantoo verbo leve DAR 3 é gerado na posição de v. ; In this text we analyze some syntactic and semantic aspects of thelight verb dar 'to give' in European Portuguese, arguing that there are, at least,two distinct values of this light verb: one where it has three arguments (DAR 2)and, therefore, it is close to the corresponding full verb (DAR 1) and other valuein which it is truly a light verb and it has, at least apparently, two arguments andit is therefore not ditransitive (DAR 3). We propose that the light verb DAR 2 isgenerated in a low position in the structure, similar to the full verb, distinguishingitself from it by forming a complex predicate with the deverbal N with which itcombines, while the light verb DAR 3 is generated in v.
