Abstract:
CONCLUSIÓNS: Obtívose unha versión do PMEQ consensuada e adaptada lingüística, semántica e conceptualmente á poboación española. Standardized assessment tools that make it easier for health professionals to support mothers with physical disabilities are scarce. In 2020, the occupational therapist Francescaroberta Panuccio developed and published the Pregnancy and Motherhood Evaluation Questionnaire (PMEQ), that measures the impact of physical disability on pregnancy and the management of motherhood. OBJETIVES: The objective was to cross-culturally adapt the PMEQ into Spanish and to preliminarily test its psychometric properties in Spanish mothers with physical disabilities with children under 12 years of age. METHODOLOGY: The PMEQ was translated and cross-culturally adapted into Spanish following international guidelines through double translation, consensus and expert translation committee. Comprehensibility was assessed through cognitive interviews and in the preliminary validation, the internal consistency of the questionnaire and subscales. RESULTS: A total of 45 questionnaires were examined from the associative setting. The PMEQ items presented low levels of difficulty and high semantic and conceptual equivalence. The overall internal consistency of the instrument was good (Cronbach's a = 0.821). CONCLUSIONS: A consensus version of the PMEQ was obtained and adapted linguistically, semantically and conceptually to the Spanish population. Preliminary data suggest that the PMEQ is a reliable assessment tool. ; Traballo fin de grao (UDC.FCS). Terapia ocupacional. Curso 2020-2021
