Abstract:
International audience ; This unique work deals with the rituals of politeness used in French and Japanese in electronic context. It sheds new light on the evolution of the communicative practices used by cyber-writers in their e-mails, which are put into perspective with cultural, relational and generational parameters. In this sense, it deconstructs the illusion of uniformity of communicative practices that can be generated by the daily and shared use of the same technology: e-mail. It is thus a valuable aid for anyone who wishes to better understand the rules of good governance of interpersonal relations in French and Japanese. This effort to explain the rules in a comprehensive way is all the more necessary since Japanese communicative practices are often opaque to the French - and vice versa. The clarity and accessibility of the book make it pleasant and easy to read for any person - expert or layman - confronted with intercultural encounters in the context of work, travel or expatriation. The richness and the requirement of more theoretical developments will be precious to the reader engaged in academic research on the comparison of distant languages and cultures. ; Cet ouvrage, unique en son genre, traite des rituels de politesse privilégiés en français et en japonais en contexte électronique. Il apporte un éclairage inédit sur l’évolution des pratiques communicatives mises en œuvre par les cyberscripteurs dans leurs e-mails, qu’il met en regard avec des paramètres culturels, relationnels et générationnels. En ce sens, il déconstruit l’illusion d’uniformité des pratiques communicatives que peut générer l’usage quotidien et partagé d’une même technologie, le courrier électronique. Il constitue ainsi une aide précieuse pour quiconque désire mieux comprendre les règles de bonne gouvernance des relations interpersonnelles en français et en japonais. Cet effort d’explicitation compréhensive est d’autant plus nécessaire que les pratiques communicatives japonaises sont bien souvent opaques aux yeux des Français – et inversement. La clarté et l’accessibilité de l’ouvrage en rendent la lecture agréable et aisée pour toute personne – experte ou profane – confrontée aux rencontres interculturelles dans le cadre de son travail, de ses déplacements ou d’une expatriation. La richesse et l’exigence des développements plus théoriques seront, eux, appréciés des lecteurs engagés dans une recherche académique touchant à la comparaison de langues et de cultures distantes.
