『方丈記』とは、表現の個々の部分に典拠をすえ、すえた典拠からの逸脱をはかることによって伝統言語を超えようとする記述の過程そのものであった ; It has been indicated that the expressions of Hojio=ki written by Chomei Kamo, who lived in the 12th chntry, were under the influence of 31-syllable Japanese poems in Heian period. In this paper, on the contrary, I pointed out the aspects of deviation rather than the influence in Hojio=ki. "MISAGO (an osprey)" is a case in point. "MISAGO (an osprey)" was the word generally used in Japanese poem in Heian period. Yet it was given a new meaning in Hoji=ki. The expressions of Hojio=ki had the authrized usages, and they also would go over beyond them as well.
