Abstract:
Esta tesis tiene, en principio, una doble vertiente: por un lado analizar y explorar el concepto de comunicación intercultural como un elemento imprescindible para el aprendizaje de las lenguas y, en segundo lugar, situar dicha competencia en el marco de la enseñanza de las lenguas en el contexto de inmersión. A través de una metodología propia de la investigación cualitativa, se llevó a cabo un análisis, descriptivo e interpretativo, del fenómeno de la interculturalidad en la enseñanza y aprendizaje de lenguas extranjeras, específicamente en el contexto de inmersión sociocultural, ayudándonos también de un estudio práctico, con enfoque etnográfico, realizado con estudiantes universitarios norteamericanos que aprenden español como lengua extranjera en contexto de inmersión, en este caso en México y en España. Entre las conclusiones, destaca la necesidad de reformular los programas de inmersión lingüística y cultural para el aprendizaje de lenguas extranjeras, tan difundidos hoy en día en todo el mundo. ; This thesis has a double dimension: on the one hand, it analyses and explores the concept of intercultural communication as an essential element for language learning; on the other hand, this concept is established in the learning language frame, but applied in a full immersion context. A descriptive and interpretative analysis has been made through a qualitative methodology focusing the intercultural phenomena in the teaching-learning process of foreign languages, specifically in the context of socio-cultural full immersion. We also needed a practical study, that is to say, putting into focus an ethnographic vision accomplished by university American students who learned Spanish as a foreign language in the context of full immersion. In this particular case, it was made in the countries of Mexico and Spain. Among the conclusions, I want to emphasize the necessity of reformulating the linguistic and cultural programs in order to serve one's foreign languages apprenticeship widely known nowadays.
