Abstract: Η αναγνώριση και η ορθογραφημένη γραφή λέξεων είναι χαμηλού επιπέδου διαδικασίες, απαραίτητες για την ανάπτυξη των ικανοτήτων παραγωγής και κατανόησης κειμένων. Σύμφωνα με έρευνες, οι μαθητές πρέπει να αυτοματοποιήσουν τις χαμηλού επιπέδου διαδικασίες, ώστε να αποδεσμεύσουν γνωστικούς πόρους. Η αυτοματοποίηση των διαδικασιών προκύπτει από την ανάπτυξη του νοητικού λεξικού. Κεντρικός στόχος της έρευνας είναι η διερεύνηση της δομής του νοητικού λεξικού και η συμβολή του στην αναγνώριση, ορθογραφημένη γραφή και γνώση των σημασιών των λέξεων, καθώς η επιστημονική αυτή πτυχή δεν έχει ερευνηθεί σε μεγάλο βαθμό. Για το σκοπό αυτό χρησιμοποιήθηκαν δυο έργα φωνολογικής επίγνωσης, δυο μορφολογικής επίγνωσης, ένα αναγνώρισης λέξεων, ένα ορθογραφημένης γραφής λέξεων και ένα γνώσης των σημασιών των λέξεων. Στην έρευνα συμμετείχαν 201 μαθητές και μαθήτριες της Δ΄ και Ε΄ τάξης του νομού Θεσσαλονίκης. Από τα αποτελέσματα φάνηκε πως τα παιδιά αυτής της ηλικιακής ομάδας έχουν αναπτύξει αρκετά τη φωνολογική επίγνωση και την ... : Word recognition and spelling are low order skills that are necessary for the development of text composition and comprehension. Research findings show that the low order skills must be automatic so that they release cognitive resources for higher order processes. Processes automation comes as a result of the mental lexicon development. The main aim of this research is the investigation of mental lexicon’s structure as well as its contribution to recognition, spelling and knowledge of words’ meaning, since that scientific aspect of reading comprehension has not been widely researched. For this purpose, two phonological awareness tasks, two morphological awareness tasks, one word recognition task, one spelling task and one knowledge of words meaning task were used. 201 4th and 5th grade students of Thessaloniki regional unit were participated in the study.
