Free licences for corpora: FID Linguistik expands the service

FID Linguistik grants individual licences for selected language corpora distributed by the European Language Resource Association (ELRA). The service is free of charge for researchers within Germany: the licence fees are covered by a special fund established with the support of the German Research Foundation (Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft, DFG). The provided licence allows download of the corpus.

In February 2022, the service that started in 2019 as a pilot project was expanded to include 200 additional resources. Currently, you can choose out of 304 mono- and multilingual corpora - e.g., ICE-GB (British English component of the International Corpus of English), “Le Mond Diplomatique” Text corpus, MTP Annotated German corpus, ECI/MCI (European Corpus Initiative/Multilingual Corpus I).
